2020 Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid pricing revealed
In a recent update, it was confirmed that the hybrid version of the all-new Toyota Corolla Altis is coming to the Philippines. Now, sources close to the automaker, have revealed the pricing for all the variants scheduled to launch soon. The 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid comes with the sharp, new design and a highly efficient powertrain.
Along with the hybrid version, the naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre and 1.8-litre variants are also in the range. In 1.6-litre variant, the pricing starts at Php 999k for the most affordable 1.6 E M/T and when it comes with the most expensive 1.6V CVT in White Pearl, price stands at PhP 1.2 million. The.8V Hybrid variant comes for PhP 1.58 million and 1.595 million for the White Pearl option.
In comparison to the Prius and Prius C model, the Philippines customers are widely familiar with Corolla Altis, and this is the first time when the automaker is launching the hybrid version of an existing model. Further, it is still not clear that 1.8-litre variant for 2020 Corolla Atlis will come with the non-hybrid version or not. The hybrid engine will be powered by a 1.8-litre four-cylinder, Atkinson-cycle engine that is helped along by an electric motor with an estimated power generation of 150 PS. On the other hand, the 1.6-liter, naturally-aspirated engine may still come with 122 PS of power and 153 Nm of torque.
For managing the prices, the Corolla Altis Hybrid is made in Thailand, not in Japan, which means the advantage of ASEAN Free Trade Area and taxation existed. Under the TRAIN tax reform law, a 50% excise tax discount is available for hybrids. So, all this makes Corolla Altis more affordable than Honda Civic RS, but not the most affordable, as the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid priced at Php 1,548,000 currently in the market. However, the Ioniq is more of a hatchback, the Corolla Altis Hybrid is a proper four-door with a trunk. The official premium is set to arrive next month.
