A90 Toyota GR Supra gets modified by famed BMW tuner AC Schnitzer

MANILA: The way the new Toyota GR Supra looks is possibly one of its major strengths. But AC Schnitzer thinks it can still tweak it a bit and take it up a notch higher to perfection. And yes, it looks like AC Schnitzer is branching out and expanding its portfolio.

 

An AC Schnitzer aftermarket upgrade for the new Toyota GR Supra comes with all sorts of goodies. From a comprehensive aero package to a slight bump in power, and updates to the suspension, exterior and interior trims, it covers all.

First up, the A90’s B58B30 twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine gets fitted with AC Schnitzer’s in-house engine optics ECU, which upgrades its capacity from 335 hp and 500 Nm to 394 hp of power and 600 Nm of peak torque. Though the zero to 100kmph sprint is not revealed, expect an improvement on the 4.3 seconds standard Supra, and top speed is pegged at 250 kmph. The engine’s purr is further heightened via an AC Schnitzer’s WLTP-tested rear silencer with one carbon “Sport” or “Sport Black” tailpipes each side.

The Toyota GR Supra gets improved handling and stability courtesy of AC Schnitzer’s adjustable RS suspension, which drops the ride height by 25 mm. If the lower ride is too much to your liking, you can opt for a less intense 15 mm spring kit.

Either way, both will go well with a set of 20-inch AC3 Lightweight or AC1 Leichtmetallfelgen forged alloy wheels available in four colors. The front wheels are wrapped in 255/30 rubber while the rear wheels get 275/30 series tires.

On the exterior, the GR Supra gets aerodynamically enhanced by the AC Schnitzer front splitter, hood vents with carbon inserts, and carbon fiber GT spoiler. If you want a bit more downforce, a carbon-fiber Gurney flap can be fitted to the spoiler.

And if you really want to go overboard with it, AC Schnitzer badging and license plate holders are also available. Inside the cabin, you can get an AC Schnitzer aluminum trim kit for the shift paddles, foot pedals, footrest, key holder, and iDrive cover.

This is the first time AC Schnitzer has created an aftermarket kit for the Japanese car brand. The tuner packages offered are tailor-made, race-tested upgrades and comes with a three-year warranty to boot.
