Ford Ranger Scores perfect 5-star rating from ASEAN-NCAP

MANILA: The new Ford Ranger has received the highest safety rating i.e 5 stars from the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP), making it outstanding in comparison to other pickup trucks in the segment. It also scored 15.45/16 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP).

Mark Kaufman, President, Ford ASEAN says “The 5-star ASEAN-NCAP reveals the achievement of a great milestone in the Ranger’s success story. we were already committed into designing and developing the vehicle in order to accept the challenges and provide amazing safety features like no other pickup truck." Adding further, Kaufman also said that safety has always been treated as Ford's top priority.

Ford had equipped the new Ranger with advanced safety technologies and an amazing occupant protection. The build quality is very impressive including side impact protection beams, a collapsible steering column, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD). With all these features, Ranger turns into a top performer.

The testing model was also equipped with all safety accessories such as dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Roll Over Mitigation (ROM), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and ISOFIX seats for child seat attachment. The new Ranger also gets some smart features like Hill Launch Assist, Hill Descent Control, and Adaptive Load Control. All these technologies are meant to provide better stability. 

Additionally, the new Ford Ranger also comes equipped with an array of driver assist technologies that ensure the safety of the driver and enables convenient driving across rough terrains. The Wildtrak variant also comes with both side and rear curtain airbags to ensure maximum protection.
