Ford Ranger tops the sales chart in November 2018

MANILA: The Ford Ranger is one of the best-known pickup trucks not only in the Philippines but around the world. And this popularity has contributed to the sales chart too as Ford PH has managed to extract exceptional numbers for the pickup in the month of November.

What is interesting here is that the Ford Ranger, which was added to the lineup just last September, has topped the company’s sales chart in November. Grossing 1,158 units, the pickup registered a growth of a whopping 60% over October 2018. And thanks to this number, the company shows a 16% growth with a total sales number of 1,891 units.

Besides the Ranger pickup, the mid-size SUV, Everest, registered the second-best sales number of 446 units. This further increased its year-to-date figure to 5,406 units.

Up next comes the Ford EcoSport compact crossover, which has its sales number reading as 206 units. Hence, the company sold 4,803 units of the crossover in 2018 until the end of November. And quite interestingly enough, the Ford Mustang, the American company’s very own muscle car, also grossed 36 units previous month, taking its yearly sales to 405 units.

The Ford Ranger is available in three engine tunings - 2.2-litre, 2.0-litre Wildtrak, and 2.0-litre bi-turbo. The base engine (2.2-litre) is capable of churning out a maximum power of 158 hp at 3,200 rpm and a peak torque of 385 Nm, while the better Wildtrak 2.0-litre makes 178 hp of power at 3,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 420 Nm at 1,750 rpm.

The flagship engine comes with a bi-turbo setup and can churn out a humongous power of 210 hp at 3,750 rpm and a peak torque of 500 Nm at 1,750 rpm. As for the transmission, there is a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox while the range-topping variants have a 10-speed automatic unit.

Prices for the Ford Ranger in the Philippines starts from around PHP 1,050,000 and goes up to PHP 1,700,000.
