Xpander leads Mitsubishi's 30% sales growth in Dec.

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) capped off 2020 by attaining a 30% retail sales increase last December. Recognized as the second leading automotive brand in the Philippines, Mitsubishi generated total unit sales of 4,195.

The Mitsubishi Xpander was the top-selling model of the month, moving 1,472 units. The retail sales for this seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) increased by a huge 57% compared to the previous month. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport takes the second spot, with a total of 957 units in sales. This is followed by the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 with 911 units sold.

Another model with a notable performance last month is the Mitsubishi Pajero, 47 units of which were sold to register 147% growth versus November sales. Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi L300 had sold 478 units, representing 30% improvement.

In a prepared statement, MMPC President and CEO Mutsuhiro Oshkiri said, “December was indeed a good month for Mitsubishi Motors. We are grateful for the continuous patronage of the public to our brand. The strong support from the market inspires us to work even harder to provide better products and service.”
