It was only a few days back when Honda Cars Philippines introduced the all-new 2019 Brio. With this brand new car, Honda marks its entry in the A-segment passenger car category in the country. The all-new Brio is based on the concept of 'Proud Over Class'. Also, the company claims that the 2019 Brio is built one-class above its segment and offers some significant improvements over its 1st gen model. 1. Improved dimensions

The all-new Brio showcases some significant improvements on the dimension front. Compared to the previous-gen model, the new Brio gets 60 mm more wheelbase and the cargo area is also extended by 90 mm. The extended wheelbase further ensures a spacious cabin that can now accommodate a bigger rear seat. Also, the rear passenger legroom is better and provides a more comfortable ride experience. Taking about the cargo space, it now measures 258-litres with rear seat up and 710-litre with the seat folded down. All this while maintaining the car's compact body structure for an easy commute in city traffic.

2. Dynamic exterior

Following the 'Proud Over Class' concept, the all-new Brio boasts a mature and dynamic exterior design. The car has been styled in a way to ensure a wide stance and low centre of gravity. The front fascia of the Brio showcases a strong sense of motion with sporty expression thanks to the honeycomb front grille and multi-reflector halogen headlight with LED parking light guides. The side profile features 14-inch alloy wheels that add to the sleek and sporty quotient with its triple dynamic design. At the rear, the hatchback gets a new set of tail lights this gives the car excellent visibility and also contributes to the body rigidity.

5. Powerful engine

The 2019 Brio is powered by a new 1.2-litre 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC mill that churns out a maximum power of 90 PS at 6000 rpm along with a peak torque of 109.8 NM at 4800 rpm. Buyers can opt for either a 5-speed manual or continuously variable transmission unit. The engine and gearbox together offer a fuel-efficient, smooth, and powerful off-the-line acceleration.

6. Strong safety shield

The 2nd gen Brio holds a 4-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating as it is loaded with all the essential passive and active safety features. Included in the standard list are dual front SRS airbags, and ABS. Further, Honda's G-CON tech improves impact absorption for passengers protection in the event of a crash or accident.

Note, until June 2019, Honda is offering the 2019 Brio at special introductory suggested retail prices that starts from Php 732,000.
