All-new Nissan Terra launched in the Philippines

MANILA: Nissan Philippines had a reasonably good lineup on display for its prospective buyers, however, till date, it missed a full-blown SUV. Well, as for today, it won’t be the case, Nissan launched the 2018 Terra in the Philippines. Also, its official website has been updated for the buyers to check-out the new offering closely.

Nissan first unveiled the new Terra in the Chinese market, and it is also scheduled to grab limelight at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show. The Philippines is the first country in the Southeast Asian Market to receive Nissan's new SUV offering. So, if you are interested in buying cars like Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu mu-X, and Ford Endeavour, well now add Terra to the list too, as it hails from the same segment.

The all-new Terra shares its underpinning with pickup trucks like the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class and Nissan Navara. To many, it also seems to be the spiritual successor to the Nissan Pathfinder.

Its overall design language reminds many of the Navara pickup. However, the front and rear bumper are tweaked giving the SUV an upmarket look. Included in the exterior package are honeycomb grille with a big-chrome U underling, LED headlights with daytime running lights, chrome trim on fog lamps, prominent fender, side skid, LED tail lights, and tailgate with chrome detailing.

Step inside its seven-seater cabin, and you’ll again have the Navara flashbacks. The SUV is stuffed with modern-day essentials like

• Dual port instrument cluster with MID port
• 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat
• Multi-functional steering wheel
•  Cruise Control
• Bluetooth connectivity

On the mechanical front, the 2018 Terra is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. Paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed manual transmission system, this mill produces a maximum output of 190 PS and 450 Nm.
