Ford Ranger picks up sales in the Philippines

MANILA: The 2.0L Bi-Turbo diesel engine powered pickup truck from the house of Ford has been plying its trade in international markets for quite some time now. Ford Ranger has been popular ever since its launch in the Philippine, and year by year, its sales have grown stronger with every upgraded version. It has staved off stiff competition owing to the reputation of Ford.

In the third quarter itself, Ranger sales have risen 28 percent to a record high of 3,852 units. The year to date total rose by 26 percent to a whopping 10,688 units. Evidently, Ranger remains a dominant player in the pickup truck market of the Philippines. Customers looking for heavy-duty vehicles choose more often than not a Ford Ranger that guarantees stability and performance.

There are in all 11 variants of the Ford Ranger that has steadily grown its repertoire of the years. The latest addition to the Ranger family has been the Ranger XLS Sport, whose eye-catching features and rugged look have captured the imagination of the buyers’ across South-East Asia. The enhanced XLS edition is available from Php 1,032,000.

Alongside Ranger, the sales have seen a steady upward trend for the Everest mid-size SUV and EcoSport mini SUV as well. Year to date sales of EcoSport has risen to 1,512 units while year to date sales figures of Everest were 3,537. All the credit for these whopping numbers and the upward trend in sales goes to Ford's 2.0L Turbo diesel engine that has been churning out a massive 210 hp and 500 Nm.

The sales are not yet showing any sign of slacking owing to the strong customer demand. Ranger has fought hard with Chevrolet Colorado and Isuzu D-Max in this segment, but the reliability of Ford has kept the Ranger in good stead. The after-sales value of a Ranger or a Ranger Raptor is quite high that calls for an added buying point.

The overall sale of the Ford vehicles sees a surge. New features, better design, and efficient performance are expected to drive in further growth for Ford in the Philippine market in the coming quarters.
