The brand-new Ford Ranger Sport 4x4 was officially handed over to Gawad Kalinga by Ford Philanthropy President Mary Culler and Ford Philippines Managing Director Pedro Simoes.Headlining the aforementioned is Ford’s official turnover of a brand-new Ranger Sport 4x4 unit to the said non-government organization.
The vehicle was personally turned over by Ford Philanthropy President Mary Culler to Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation Chairman of the Board Luis Oquiñena.
Likewise present to facilitate the turnover were Ford Philippines Managing Director Pedro Simoes, Ford Group Philippines Director for Government and Corporate Affairs Kent Primor, and Ford Philanthropy Senior Manager for International Markets Group Jane Holloway.
“Because we have this incredible partnership with GK, and we know that, and in the 'building together moment’, it's all about bringing these ‘superpowers’ together. I am excited to let you know that we are donating a Ford Ranger Sport to GK,” Culler said.
Per Culler, the “superpowers” she was referring to are the strength of Ford’s dealerships, car clubs, its partners, and the communities, like those under GK, that it has served for years.
And of course, it also encompasses the Blue Oval brand’s lineup of cars used by Ford employees, volunteers, and partners during the many outreach activities it has conducted with GK.
The new Building Together: Ford X GK In Action initiative, however, will take the car brand’s involvement with GK to the next level.
For now, no specific programs or activities under the initiative have been disclosed, but it will focus on “building safer homes, resilient communities, and brighter futures.”
On this note, GK will use its new Ford Ranger Sport to support its lineup of programs, some of which were put up in collaboration with the brand’s local arm. The aforementioned includes “Operation Walang Iwanan Disaster Preparedness and Relief Operations Hubs.” the Operation Better World medical/dental outreach and training program, and the “Kusina ng Kalinga” feeding program.
