2019 Ford Ranger launched in the Philippines - Variants and prices unveiled

MANILA: The blue oval brand from America is up for some serious business in the Philippines. Alongside the brawny Ranger Raptor, Ford has launched the new Ranger. It’s refreshed, updated and gets a new variant as well.

The 2.0-litre bi-turbo engine that powers the Ranger Raptor is now a part of the Ranger’s offering list. Capable of churning out a max power of 213 PS and a healthy torque of 500 Nm, the engine serves as the power mill for the new Ford Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 AT, mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

The other versions of the Ranger are power-packed too. While some are equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with power and torque rated at 180.4 PS and 420 Nm respectively, the less capable ones get a 2.2-litre Duratorq engine, producing a max power of 160 PS and a peak torque of 385 Nm. The engines are either mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Bertrand Lessard, the managing director of Ford Philippines said, “With the new generation powertrain and advanced features, the new Ranger will continue to build on its already strong and widening appeal among Filipino customers, setting a new benchmark in the country’s growing pickup truck segment.”

You, as customers, are entitled to choose the new Ranger in your favourite colour because there are plenty of options available, including Sunset Red, Blue Reflex, Meteor Grey, Absolute Black, Cool White, Aluminium Metallic, Diffused Silver and Saber.

Not just colours, the new Ford Ranger is available in a total of eight variants. While the base variant is priced at Php 1,029,000, the top-of-the-line model, the Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 AT gets a price of Php 1,695,000.
