2020 Toyota Hiace Super Grandia launched, starts at Php 2,420,000

MANILA: It was quite an honor for the Filipinos when Toyota hosted the global launch of the all-new Hiace in the Philippines. Nevertheless, the masses have been waiting for the plusher and more convenient version of the van in the country, i.e., the 2020 Toyota Hiace Super Grandia. Well, you can also call the Hiace Super Grandia the younger sibling of the Toyota Alphard. In its most luxurious form, the Hiace Super Grandia feature various aesthetic and comfort and convenience features.

To start with, we have got LED lighting all-around from the headlamps to the taillamps and even the fog lights. A large chrome-plated four slat grille is flanked by the LED headlamps. Getting inside and outside of the luxurious Hiace Super Grandia is super easy thanks to the powered dual sliding doors. On the inside, there is a nine-seater setup that includes two rows of Captain’s Chairs. As expected, the upholstery has been done in leather and there is also the automatic climate control system.

Under the hood of the 2020 Toyota Hiace Super Grandia is the 1GD-FTV 2.8-litre engine that is capable of producing 176 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 450 Nm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, this is the same mill that powers the standard Hiace as well.

Another upgrade on the luxurious van is the new four-link coil-spring suspension instead of the leaf-spring unit on the regular Hiace. On the safety front, the 2020 Toyota Hiace Super Grandia gets up to nine SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, Pre-collision System (PCS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and Automatic High Beam (AHB), stability control, and much more.

The six variants of the 2020 Hiace Super Grandia with their respective prices are:

• Hiace Super Grandia 2.8L Fabric (2-Tone): Php 2,435,000
• Hiace Super Grandia 2.8L Leather: Php 2,510,000
• Hiace Super Grandia 2.8L Leather (2-Tone): Php 2,525,000
• Hiace Super Grandia 2.8L Elite: Php 2,875,000
• Hiace Super Grandia 2.8L Elite (2-Tone): Php 2,890,000
