Kia PH reaches 10K-unit sales milestone for Sonet

MANILA: More than 10,000 Kia Sonet units have been sold in the Philippines since its local launch about two years ago.

In a statement, the ACMobility-led automotive distributor shared that the latest achievement highlights the model’s status as “a crowd favorite for Filipino motorists.”

Positioned to against the Toyota Raize in the local subcompact crossover market, the Kia Sonet entered the Philippine market in June 2024. 

From January to October 2025, a total of 5,040 units were sold in the Philippines, placing the model second in the segment with a 23-percent market share.

Under the small sport utility vehicle’s hood is a 1.5-liter, inline-four-cylinder double overhead cam, naturally aspirated gasoline engine paired with either an intelligent variable transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox in front-wheel-drive configuration. 

The vehicle's handling and stability are supported by the following suspension and braking components:

Inside, the Kia Sonet is fitted with two digital displays consisting of either a 4.2- or 10.25-inch instrument cluster and an 8- or 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The audio system comes with a six-speaker setup and has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Despite its diminutive size, the Sonet packs a host of technology features through the Kia DriveWise suite, which includes:

• Lane Follow Assist
• Forward Collision Avoidance Assist
• Downhill brake control
• High beam assist
• Driver attention warning 

Complementing this is the slew of safety and security offerings such as dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, hill start assist control, rear camera display, and parking distance warning.

Kia Sonet Club PH 2nd anniversary drive

Recently, Kia Sonet Pilipinas Club celebrated its second anniversary centered on the scale and variety of the growing community.

More than 80 Kia Sonet units—spanning from LX to the top-tier SX and K-Style trims, both bone-stock and customized—took part in the event.
