World Witnesses the Grand Premiere of 2016 Mitsubishi Montero Sport

MANILA : Mitsubishi Motor Corporation (MMC), today launched its fully-redesigned Montero Sport at the Big Motor Sales in Bangkok. This much awaited SUV has undergone a major transformation after seven years, thus increasing the exception of people round the word. Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) is the global producer of this seven seater SUV, the sales will commence from Thailand, later followed by Australian, ASEAN, Middle East nations.

This new SUV from Mitsubishi is packed with handsomeness and several oomph factors. At the exterior end, it showcases some great art work that includes the 'Dynamic Shield' front face design. The stylish and sporty design language used differs it from its on-going counter parts like the recently released Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Trailblazer and Ford Everest. Mitsubishi new SUV is indeed the right choice for both the urban commute and off-road adventure lovers.

This "stylish and comfortable off-road SUV" is packed with a whole lot of thoughtful chrome work on dashboard which fully complements the outer dynamic grille. The center console gets a display unit along with an instrument cluster, further it creates a flow with the new inclined gear box marked with chrome accents. Steering wheel has been modified with a new four-spoke look that follows the chrome trend and embossed buttons which further increases its utility. The new instrument panel is a true work of art and displays information like fuel consumption, Eco-drive assistance along with on-road and off-road modes. Greater comfort is promised with the upgraded sound insulation, climate control system and cosy seats.

The up-to date Montero will run on Thai streets with a capable 2.4L MIVEC*2 turbo diesel engine, when mated with 8-speed automatic transmission it generates 181 PS of power @ 3500 rpm and maximum torque of 430 Nm @ 2500. These engine configuration introduced by Mitsubishi would make this SUV 17 percent more fuel efficient and the CO2 emissions will fall down to 200g/kg. Also its 5.6 meter of turning radius allows it to take sharp turns with ease.

Further, the MMC in-house Super-Select 4WD-II drive system will increase Montero sport’s performance and stability. Following forms a part of this newly evolved drive system - 2H (2-wheel high range), 4H (4-wheel high range), 4HLC (4-wheel high range with center differential lock) and 4LLC (4-wheel low range with differential lock). Adding its capability are Off-road mode and Hill descent control that allows the car to move on varied terrain types.

The all new Montero Sport comes in two different body measurements. The premium variant displays a body size of 4,785 mm x 1,815 mm x 1,805 mm with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm, where else the standard variant dimension sheet reads as 4,695 mm x 1,815 mm x 1,840 mm.

This feature loaded SUV scores high on safety front, seven airbags, Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Blind Sport Warning (BSW), around view monitor, sonar parking sensors, electronic parking brakes, and a new Ultrasonic mis-acceleration Mitigation System (UMS) all form a part of its RISE impact safety body design.
